I dont think that you would find too many people that will argue the fact that conservatism is cool. Even many of my conservative colleagues would have to agree with me on that one. That being said, do you ever wonder why being a conservative isnt cool? I have pondered the question and have come up with some possible reasons.

It is obvious that the United States of America is the greatest nation ever created in the history of the human species. At no other time in the recorded annals has any one country grown to the strength and size allowing for such high qualities of life. Unfortunately the government that runs it has become inefficient, unprofessional and under whelming. We need to down size government or better yet turn the whole damn thing over to the Wal-Mart Corporation. Why you ask?

On June 28th, just 2 days before my birthday, I was listening to the radio when a news report described how a helicopter carrying Navy SEALS crashed in Afghanistan and that they were in the process of finding out the status of those on board. I instantly thought of Mike Murphy. I called my wife who was still in contact with someone that worked with Mike's father. I received a phone call back from my wife saying "Sorry honey, Mike was on that plane."

By now anyone who watches the news on the television, listens to news on the radio, or reads a newspaper has heard of the Terri Schiavo case. Terri Schiavo, a woman, who at age 26, collapsed and suffered brain damage under ambiguous circumstances, is said to be in a constant vegetative state according to her husband, Michael Schiavo. Mr. Schiavo wants to have her feeding tube removed so that she will die and says that's what Terri would have wanted.
